Favre: Don't call it a comeback! I been here for years...
Rodgers: And I'm here, to remind you Of the mess you left when you went away... Favre: I Can't Stand It, I Know You Planned It I'm a Set It Straight, This Watergate... Thompson: Regrets? I've had a few, But then again, too few to mention. I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption. Fans: I guess there is no one to blame We're leaving ground Will things ever be the same again? It's the final countdown. McCarthy: People all over the world (everybody) Join hands (join) Start a love train, love train... Rodgers: It's not fair, to deny me Of the cross I bear that you gave to me... Favre: So,So,So, So Listen Up 'Cause You Can't Say Nothin' You Shut Me Down With A Push Of Your Button But yo, I'm Out And I'm Gone I'll Tell You Now I Keep It On And On... Fans: The final countdown!!! Favre: I just don't know....what made you forget that I was raw? McCarthy: Please don't miss this train at the station 'Cause if you miss it, I feel sorry, sorry for you... Thompson: I planned each charted course - Each careful step along the byway, And more, much more than this, I did it my way. Fans: Don't push us, cause we're close to the, edge We're tryin, not to, lose our heads, a-hah-hah-hah-hah Rodgers: You, you, you oughta know... Favre: I get the feeling sometime, that make me wonder...Why you wanna take me under? Rodgers: Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Thompson/Fans: So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye? Favre: So you think you can love me and leave me to die? All: Nothing really matters Anyone can see Nothing really matters Nothing really matters to me (Curtains) Vikings: 34 Packers: 20 -------------------- Even the sun goes down, heroes eventually die...

I suppose Ted Thompson doesn't regret most of his decisions. I'm fairly certain the fans don't feel the same way though... -------------------- "It is a fine thing, they say, to say fine things over and over again." Socrates

Holy Geez, I feel bad for the folks out at Lambeau today, this cannot be the way they envisioned today going down. Favre is putting on a clinic.

Don't feel bad for them. They only had the courage to boo Favre if the Packers were on even or higher ground than the Vikings (i.e. at the beginning of the game and after one of the Packers' first comeback touchdowns). It was very big of them. The only reason you should pity them is because Mike McCarthy failed again to add more protection for Rodgers with tight ends or running backs and it took him a game and a half to figure out that short drop backs and other quick passes helped to negate the Vikings' pass rush. (And maybe feel bad that their quarterback often takes too long to get rid of the ball.) -------------------- "It is a fine thing, they say, to say fine things over and over again." Socrates

I expected them to hate Favre even (or perhaps especially) while they were losing... I sure am glad I got out of the Packers when I did. This whole mess has been much more enjoyable from the outside. -------------------- "It is a fine thing, they say, to say fine things over and over again." Socrates

Happy for Brett
I know his name is mud on this board, but Colin Cowherd makes a good point about people with exceptional talent. That point being you need to be willing to cater to them. I work in medicine and I work with some very difficult personalities, but the fact is some of these people are uniquely gifted and I need to be able to leverage that gift. Over the last 2 and half years Brett went 13-3, started 8-3 with the Jets before injury (played through the injury) and now is 7-1. In the NFL that qualifies to me as unique. These to me are facts: Aaron Rogers is a decent QB, he's no Favre. Favre makes considerably less mistakes when his team is good and ahead Favre is Top 6 NFL QB today -------------------- I wish I could tell you things went well with the sisters, but this is Shawshank.

Yep.
Bears fans would never boo Payton. Lions fans would never boo Sanders. Colts fans would never boo Manning. Raiders fans would never boo....um...well this is where the comparisons end. YOU DON'T BOO YOUR FRANCHISE'S ICONIC PLAYER!!! IT'S A RULE! -------------------- Even the sun goes down, heroes eventually die...

Isn't there also a rule that you don't stab the team that worshiped you for decades in the back??? -------------------- Worm: "Just like the saying says: In the poker game of life, women are the rake. They are the (expletive) rake."
Mike McD: "What are you talking about? What saying?" Worm: "I don't know. There oughta be one." |

Did you guys know:
Apparently this Brett Farve chap used to play for the Packers. The first I've heard of it. That must have made it awkward for both the home fans and this Farve guy. -------------------- Worm: "Just like the saying says: In the poker game of life, women are the rake. They are the (expletive) rake."
